Step 1. Inventory or a scenario product
When selecting an inventory or scenario product, think of what kind of product you are adding to Pickler.
Inventory product: Select when you want to create an Impact Report for an inventory product that you sell. Impact Reports for inventory products can be shared outside of Pickler, because they represent actual products.
Scenario product: Select for any non-existing products or products that are not in your actual inventory. Scenario products allow you more flexibility within Pickler, such as changing the end of life.
They are meant to support you in sales advice to customers. E.g. if they want to switch from a competitor to you - how much impact would they reduce? IN that case you can model the competitor's prodyuct as scenario product, based on the data your client has.

Step 2. Product name and ID
Enter the name and ID of your product. These values are part of the minimal data required to add products to Pickler.
For inventory products: this is usually the name you use internally as well.
For scenario products: it's good practise to describe what you product you are trying to recreate.
Example:
You have duplicated your inventory product called biodegradable box L.
You have duplicated this product in to a scenario product, because you want to know what happens if you change to plastic.
Best practise is to name this product biodegradable box L (plastic scenario)
Step 3. Product category, Industry, and Suppliers
Category: Select an existing (mapped) category for your product or create a new one and map it after you save your product.
Industry: Select the industry your packaging is most used for.
Supplier: If possible aim to always fill out your supplier. This helps if you want to filter products per specific supplier or invite a supplier to fill out more specific data in Pickler.
Description: This is the product description your client will see in the Impact Report.
How it works
Industry and categories are not used for our calculations. They help to quickly filter your products. It also allows us to benchmark products within their category. This will be a future feature.
Step 4. Weight
Enter the weight of the your product. This doesn't need to per piece, for example when you sell a box full of packaging.
If you add the weight per piece, you can adjust the #products in your impact reports when you share them.
