Pickler is built to make packaging sustainability measurable, transparent, and compliant — across methodology, data standards, and EU regulation.

By combining verified Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) principles, internationally recognized databases, and regulator-approved communication rules, Pickler gives companies a single, trusted system for measuring, reporting, and sharing their environmental impact.

Verified and Standardized Methodology

At the core of Pickler lies the Fast-Track LCA, a verified method designed to balance scientific rigor with speed and scalability.

  • Independently verified by Normec Verifavia, confirming full alignment with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044, the global standards for conducting LCAs.

  • Eco-costs are calculated according to ISO 14008, translating environmental impact into financial terms.

  • Background data is sourced from IDEMAT, the peer-reviewed lifecycle database developed by TU Delft, ensuring scientific reliability and transparency.

This standardized model ensures that every calculation in Pickler is traceable, comparable, and verifiable, allowing companies to use the results directly for sustainability reporting and communication.

Alignment with Key Regulations

Pickler is designed to meet the main European sustainability requirements for reporting, packaging, and communication.

CSRD – Covers all ESRS E1–E5 indicators (climate, pollution, water, biodiversity, resource use). Pickler data can be used directly for CSRD reporting, dashboards, and Scope 3 disclosures.

PPWR – Fully PPWR-ready, linking every data field to EU regulation. Enables recyclability and material reporting, QR-based product passports, and audit-ready documentation.

DPP / ESPR – Supports the new Digital Product Passport with verified impact, composition, certification, and end-of-life data. All fields are traceable and auditable per Annex III.

Green Claims Directive – Ensures clear, evidence-based, and regulator-approved claims. Pickler’s reports, widgets, and comparisons are ACM-approved and fully aligned with EU anti-greenwashing rules.

Structured and Interoperable Data

Pickler’s data model follows international data exchange standards, ensuring compatibility and traceability throughout the supply chain.

  • GS1 hierarchy (product → pack → case → pallet): Reflects the full packaging system for accurate impact allocation.

  • PACT framework (WBCSD): Defines a shared language for product carbon footprint (PCF) data exchange, classifying data as primary, secondary, or default.

This structure ensures that data from Pickler can integrate seamlessly into digital product passports, customer reports, and supply chain systems.

Why This Matters

Sustainability data is only as valuable as it is credible.

Pickler brings together verified science, regulatory alignment, and transparent data management — turning compliance into a foundation for trust, efficiency, and growth.

By using Pickler, companies can:

  • Comply confidently with all major EU sustainability laws.

  • Simplify reporting with traceable, standardized data.

  • Support customers with verified Scope 3 and product-level disclosures.

  • Strengthen communication through regulator-approved claims and visuals.

Pickler turns compliance into clarity — helping your company lead with transparency, credibility, and measurable impact.
