Companies often want to compare LCAs to create marketing claims (our product X is better than their product Y).
Or to make a purchasing decision between two or more products ('Which product has the lowest CO2 value?).
However, often LCA comparisons aren't allowed due to a number of reasons:
LCA results can only be compared if the same life cycle stages, methodology, and assumptions are applied for both calculations. However, these differ significantly between countries or LCA methods, making it difficult to compare results.
All Pickler users follow the same methodology, boundaries, assumptions, and guidelines to set a status quo in packaging. Therefore, Pickler impact reports can be compared with other Pickler impact reports. However, they cannot be compared with non-Pickler reports.
