Step 1: Adding locations
Recreate the journey of your packaging step by step. Start with the first from location and to location.
Click the From field and type out the production location. Or copy the production location by clicking onthe following button:
Add any additional locations within the journey by clicking on 'add location'
Add your warehouse location as final destination.
Options for locations to fill out:
Country
State, Province or region
City
Address

Step 2: Automatic Transport Calculations/Or not
You can choose whether to have Pickler automatically predict transport types and calculate your distances based on your locations.
If automatic calculations is turned on:
Pickler calculates your transport types and distances for you. Learn how.
Disable automatic transport calculations if you want to manually add your transport data/make sure it's not edited due to CSV/API updates.
If automatic calculations is turned off:
add the transport type for every part of your journey.
Add the distance between each part of your product's journey. Pickler will let you know how to best do so.

Step 3: adding more transport movements
Add more transportation untill you have fully recreated the transport journey of your product from production to warehouse.
Example
Production location to nearest port (truck and trailer)
Port in land of production location to port in land of warehouse (container ship)
Port in land of warehouse to warehouse location (truck and trailer)
Step 4: Add pallet weight and size
To calculate the impact of transport, we need to know the full pallet size and it's total weight including the weight of the pallet. By default, a Europallet size is prefilled. You can change this.
Please note: Pallet is the same as shipping unit. If you don't use pallets, just fill out the weight and dimensions of one shipping unit.
