  • Mica (Vermiculite) added to the database

  • New materials: Bio-PP, updated PEF, PHA from wastewater sludge, and paperboard with a grease barrier for food

  • Trucks using HVO diesel added as a transport method

  • New end-of-life landfill scenarios for bio-plastics (Bio-PP, Bio-PE, Bio-PET)

  • Energy consumption for the production of corrugated cardboard reduced from 0.440 kWh/kg to 0.123 kWh/kg

  • General update on all scores: There has been an approximate 12.5% change, particularly in electricity data, due to the global shift from the 50% reduction goal of the 1997 Kyoto Protocol to the new zero emissions target for 2050.

  • Container transport by sea corrected for m3/kg.*

  • Biodiversity credit added to testliner; kraftliner updated. Link

  • EMAA (Ethylene-Methacrylic Acid Copolymer) and Methacrylic acid were added in IdematDynamic.

  • Data on IC and PCB updated; Naphtha, Ferric Chloride, and Carnauba wax added in IdematDynamic.

  • Bio-PE is not biodegradable and therefore contributes to plastic pollution, resulting in a higher eco-cost score.

  • Bio-PE updated for ethanol-based; bio-PE added for tallow-based.

  • Direct emissions added; passenger kilometers added for air and rail.

  • TRACI V2.1 midpoints added.

  • Redefinition of protection of nature and biodiversity to align with the Biopack framework, which categorizes biodiversity under Nature.

  • Use of internet and storage at data centers added.

  • Addition of Carnauba Wax from Brazil in Rotterdam.

  • EOL scenario for Europe Bio-PE changed to be consistent with that of standard PE.
