If you do not have a bill of materials (BOM) for your packaging, it can be difficult to fill in print in the composition. Therefore, we will explain how you can best guess the type of printing and the weight fraction of the print in your packaging material composition.
Type of printing
There are 5 main types of printing used for packaging: Litho, Flexo, Digital, Rotogravure, and Silkscreen. What type of printing is most likely used during the production of your packaging depends on what type of printing process would be best suited for the packaging based on costs and technical requirements. Perhaps the table below and this article will help you on your way.

% weight in composition
If you don't know the amount of print on your packaging material, use these default values to calculate based on the printed area of the packaging the percentage weight of the print in your material composition:
If varnish layer: 3 g/m2
Otherwise:
digital, inkjet, UV printing: 6 g /m2
flexography: 8 g /m2
offset printing: 10 g / m2
gravure: 10 g / m2
