Our goal is to reduce 100 million tons of CO2 in 2025. We want to do this, by enabling packaging suppliers and buyers to make informed decisions about packaging that are in favor of the environment.

Making Informed Decisions about CO2 Can Reduce Emissions in the Packaging Industry

The packaging industry is responsible for a significant amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. These emissions are produced throughout the supply chain, from the production of raw materials to the disposal of packaging waste. Without making informed decisions about how to reduce these emissions, the packaging industry cannot effectively contribute to global efforts to combat climate change.

Why Informed Decisions Matter

By measuring their carbon footprint, businesses in the packaging industry can identify the sources of their emissions and take steps to reduce them. Without this information, it is impossible to know where to focus efforts to reduce emissions. Making informed decisions based on accurate data is essential to reducing emissions and making meaningful progress towards a more sustainable future.

The Current State of Emissions

The packaging industry contribution to world wide CO2 is estimated between 3% (Gloabl Packaging Project) and 5% (WWF). Informed decision making can make a big impact in reducing impact.

This includes emissions from the production, transportation, and waste of packaging products. With the continued growth of e-commerce and the increased demand for online shopping, these emissions are only expected to increase. It is crucial that businesses in the packaging industry take action now to reduce their carbon footprint and make a positive impact on the environment.

Conclusion

Reducing CO2 emissions in the packaging industry is essential to combatting climate change. Making informed decisions based on accurate data is key to achieving this goal. Without knowing where emissions are coming from, it is impossible to take effective action to reduce them. By measuring their carbon footprint and using software like Pickler, businesses in the packaging industry can make informed decisions about how to reduce their emissions and contribute to a more sustainable future.
